Pretty, elegant and always fun accessories

I've always been very creative. As a little girl I would always choose a bit of thread and a piece of fabric over any toy. At college I studied fine art and, later, design crafts. I love the whole process of creativity, from the point of inspiration to the sketches to the prototype to the finished product. My favourite part of the creative process is holding the finished piece up and seeing the result of all the hard work.

I have had many outlets for my creativity. I love fine art, painting and textiles. I have worked in a jewellers workshop making pieces in silver and gold which I loved. I would love to make more jewellery in precious metals as I have soooo many ideas but for now it's not possible. I love to bake and decorate cakes. I love making soft sculptures. I'm learning to sew lingerie and a few simple items of clothing which has been incredibly fun. Unfortunately, a few years ago I was hit with a debilitating chronic illness that has made it very difficult to do a lot of the things I used to do, but not to let that stop me I have learned to crochet and have taken up embroidery again after many years as I can do these while lying comfortably with my feet up and a cushion at my back.

So at the moment I mostly crochet and embroider and I sew when I can. My shop is full of accessories made using these techniques and more. My philosophy is 'the best quality materials make the best quality products' so I always use the best I can find. Sterling silver and swarovski crystals in my jewellery; soft, rich alpaca and wool, cotton and silk in my crochet; linen, satin and best quality interfacings (so important) in my bags and pure wool felt for my brooches. This philosophy makes products that look and feel like a special treat whether it's for you or a friend.

I live with my husband in the moorlands just at the edge of the peak district which is a beautiful part of the country. My favourite things are colours, animals (especially dogs) and hats! I collect hats and I'm a little bit afraid to count them as I'm sure I have enough to open a museum. yikes.
